With their hotly anticipated fourth long player, Fairyland Codex, arriving next month, Melbourne garage pub punk act Tropical Fuck Storm have announced an Aussie tour.
Not only are the quartet hitting the road in support of their new record, but the band have shared their latest single, ‘Teeth Marché’.
Following previsouly released singles ‘Goon Show’, ‘Bloodsport’ and ‘Dunning Kruger’s Loser Cruiser’, Tropical Fuck Storm’s latest is groovy bass heavy rib tickler showcasing a softer side to the often chaotic rockers.
Speaking on the song, Erica Dunn says: “Two languages jammed together, clutching at sense like the rest of the world. Marché: market, marché: walk, teeth: les dents, marcia marcia marcia: the Brady bunch. The Teeth Market, the Teeth Walk, our attempt at a laid back wonky jam which contemplates a vision of plunder that is played out in romance, in a climate emergency, in murderous political zeniths- those who take, take, take, lick their lips and want more.”
The single is accompanied by a music video directed by Alexandra Millen (A Velvet Curtain Production, Melbourne) featuring feminist water ballerinas The Clamms and retor animation courtesy of frequent collaborator Nespy 5 euro.
Tropcial Fuck Storm’s Australian tour begins with a special per-tour performance at The Forum in Melbounre as part of Rising Festival on Friday, June 6. The album tour then kicks off at Torquay Hotel in Torquay on Friday, November 7 and continues with dates at Archies Creek Tavern in Archies Creek on Saturday, November 8, Theatre Royale in Castlemaine on Sunday, November 9 and The Gov in Adelaide on Thursday, November 13. The final three concerts are at The Rechabite in Perth on Friday, November 14, Marrickville Bowlo in Sydney on Friday, November 21 and Hamilton Station in Newcastle on Sunday, November 23.
