triple j announces the 2025 J Award Nominees
This year’s nominees include Folk Bitch Trio, Baker Boy, The Rions, Ninajirachi and many more.

To coincide with Ausmusic Month, triple j has dropped the nominees for the station’s 2025 J Awards.
This year, an incredible 26 local artists have scored a nom across five award categories: triple j Australian Album of the Year, Double J Australian Artist of the Year, Unearthed Artist of the Year, rage and triple j Australian Music Video of the Year, and triple j Australian Live Act of the Year.
Several artists are up for multiple awards, with Amyl and The Sniffers, Folk Bitch Trio, Ninajirachi and PLAYLUNCH all up for two gongs.
The coveted triple j Album of the Year features ten acclaimed albums from some of the country’s best artists, including Baker Boy for his release DJANDJAY, Folk Bitch Trio for their debut album Now Would Be A Good Time, hip hop group ONEFOUR nominated for Look At Me Now and Ninajirachi for I Love My Computer. All those nominated have been selected by the entire triple j team, with the final judging panel consisting of the music and on-air teams behind triple j, Unearthed, Double J and rage.
Winners will be announced during triple j Drive from 3:30pm AEDT on Wednesday 12 November.
The j Awards are just one of several initiatives triple j are spearheading throughout Ausmusic month. Celebrating 50 years on the airwaves, triple j have announced five headline shows in Hobart, Newcastle, Adelaide, the Gold Coast and Torquay, with each featuring a different lineup. Adelaide fans get the chance to dance along to Tkay Maidza, BARKAA, Nerve and Zion Garcia.
Listeners can also expect November to be chock full of locals performing on Like A Version and Live at the Wireless, a stack more on-air ticket giveaways to triple j presented tours, and more Aussie music played daily than ever before
