Local concert venue Trinity Sessions has partnered with Church of the Trinity and the Effective Living Centre to present a day of rousing live music to raise funds for KickStart for Kids on Sunday 17 August.

The South Australian charity runs breakfast and lunch initiatives, mentoring programs and provides basic clothing and healthcare support for SA schools.

The concert is headlined by Lazy Eye, one of Australia’s great original blues acts. Led by the velvet vocals of Evan Whetter, Lazy Eye also includes superstar guitarist Erica Graf and the supremely talented Mario Marino on drums.

South Coast folk-rock trailblazer Lucas Day, who was handpicked to support Tim Freedman on his recent SA shows, is also on the bill alongside singer-songwriter Kathie Renner, who will be joined on stage by guitarist Tyler Venter.

Rounding out the impressive and talented lineup are emerging Adelaide Hills band The Mis-Shapes, a bunch of 13-year-olds whose alt-rock sound is starting to make waves.

A highlight of previous KickStart events, young volunteer Zandra Martin is also set to take to the stage for a few songs.

This is the second fundraising concert between Trinity Sessions and the Effective Living Centre and follows last year’s event for Catherine House that raised more than $7,000.

KickStart for Kids fundraising concert takes place at Trinity Sessions, 318 Goodwood Road, Clarence Park, on Sunday 17 August from 4pm.
