‘Days Of Us’ is the final single taken from Tom Misch’s upcoming sophomore album, Full Circle, out Friday 27 March via Beyond The Groove/AWAL Recordings (pre-order here).
Following the previously released tracks ‘Sisters With Me’ and ‘Slow Tonight’, Misch’s latest is a soothing, meditative song featuring an ear-catching arpeggiated saxophone motif from Kaidi Akinnibi. ‘Days Of Us’ combines sweeping violins with a subtle riff and Misch’s rich vocals.
“‘Days Of Us’” is actually a track I made a long time before the rest of Full Circle, this must have been made in 2021,” says Misch. “I was at a session at Unwound Studios in Deptford, Kaidi came round and started playing this arpeggiated sax part and I started singing this melody and it evolved into this song. I wrote it with Carmody and I like it because it feels very texturally unique. I haven’t really heard a voice over this arpeggiated sax part, it’s quite special.”
Full Circle was written and recorded in London, Cornwall, Portugal and Nashville and is influenced by events that shaped Misch’s life over the past four years. Striving for a more authentic approach to songwriting, Misch worked closely with artist and songwriter Matt Maltese, who co-wrote several songs on the record, alongside Ian Fitchuk and Adam Jaffrey.
Tom Misch began releasing music on Soundcloud in 2012, leading to the release of several mixtapes before dropping his 2018 critically acclaimed debut album, Geography.
Peaking at #8 on the UK Albums Chart, the record pushed Misch into the spotlight, with the UK singer-songwriter quickly finding a worldwide fanbase.
Since then, Misch has shared several EPs, collaborated with Loyle Carner and released an album with Yussef Dayes and another under the alias Supershy.
Despite several years away from music, suffering from extreme anxiety, Misch has healed and is excited about the next chapter of his career with the release of Full Circle.
