After touring the country in 2024, Tuareg musical pioneers Tinariwen return in 2027 for a seven-date run across February and March, with more dates to be announced.

More than 45 years into their career, Tinariwen's tour coincides with the release of their tenth album, Hoggar, released via their own label Wedge.

Recorded in Tamanrasset, the capital of Algeria's Hoggar region and its namesake, the album features a cast of close family and friends, with Tinariwen founding member Liya "Diarra" Ag Ablil reuniting with the band for the first time in around two decades; Diarra, who left the group to found Terakaft, playing guitar across six of the album's tracks, and appearances from Swedish singer-guitarist José González and Sudanese singer and oud player Sulafa Elyass.

Tinariwen kick off their run of Australian shows at Hobart's Odeon on Friday 26 February. They then cross to the mainland for headline shows at Sydney's City Recital Hall on Tuesday 2 March, The Tivoli in Brisbane on Wednesday 3 March and Byron Bay's The Northern on Thursday 4 March. The band then plays WOMADelaide in Adelaide on Sunday 7 and Monday 8 March, followed by a gig at Melbourne's Northcote Theatre on Thursday 11 March.

Tickets for the headline show go on sale Wednesday 23 September, with the pre-sale taking place Monday 21 September. Ticketing information is available here.

Over the past 45 years, Tinariwen have performed more than 1,200 concerts, released 10 albums and even won a Grammy Award, taking home the gong for Best World Music Album for 2012's Tassili.

Tinariwen have collaborated with the likes of Kurt Vile, Yusuf Islam (Cat Stevens), Micah Nelson, Jack White, Flea and Warren Ellis and continue to spread their message through their unique sound
