thrown Announce Sophomore Album 'Unwanted'

Hot on the heels of announcing their Australian return in 2027, Swedish metalcore outfit thrown have revealed that their highly anticipated new album, Unwanted, is set for release on Friday 6 November via Arising Empire.

Arriving two years after their impactful debut album Excessive Guilt, thrown's next release captures the band at the peak of their powers.

The 11-track record includes the singles 'split', 'rehearsed' and 'critic', with the latter an aggressively heavy song that takes aim at the self-appointed tastemakers who provide an endless cycle of negativity online.

Heading our way in February 2027 alongside Connecticut's Boundaries, Pittsburgh's 156/Silence and Volatile Ways, thrown kick-start their tour in Fremantle at Freo Social on Wednesday 3 February. The band then plays Adelaide's The Gov on Friday 5 February, Melbourne's Forum on Sunday 7 February, Canberra's UC Hub on Wednesday 10 February, Sydney's Liberty Hall on Thursday 11 February and Newcastle's King St Bandroom on Friday 12 February, wrapping things up at The Tivoli in Brisbane on Saturday 13 February.

Emerging from the Stockholm metal scene in 2019, thrown came to music lovers' attention with their debut EP Extended Pain, which has surpassed over 50 million streams and remained in Spotify's Global Metal Top 200 for nearly a year.

thrown followed up two years later in 2024 with their debut album Excessive Guilt, which catapulted the quartet onto the international stage.

Vocalist Marcus Lundqvist, guitarists Johan Liljeblad and Andreas Malm and drummer/producer Buster Odeholm (best known for his work with Humanity's Last Breath and Vildhjarta) have shared stages with Knocked Loose, Counterparts, Fit For A King, While She Sleeps, Wage War and many more and are pumped to return to Australia next year.
