Northlane Share New Track 'Crucified' Ahead of Australian Tour

Northlane have shared their new single 'Crucified', the latest taste of their upcoming seventh studio album Anemoia, set for release on Friday 30 October via Independent/Immortal Music Group.

Following singles 'Evian' and 'CUT_it', Northlane's third track taken from their new record is a bombastic metalcore assault on the senses that looks at how disagreements can turn ugly.

"'Crucified' is about the collapse of civil discourse - the way every disagreement now defaults to attack, every conversation becomes a battleground, every difference of opinion ends with someone playing the victim," frontman Marcus Bridge says of the song.

"Not only touching on politics, it's about the regression of communication as a whole: arguments online, wars, general difference of opinion. If you're offside, misaligned / we won't rest tonight / till you're fucking crucified. The instinct to go for the throat rather than hear someone out has seeped into every corner of life."

Northlane's Anemoia is inspired by UK producer and DJ Evian Christ. After witnessing the DJ perform live, Northlane songwriter and guitarist Jon Deiley was inspired to incorporate trance elements into the band's signature sound.

"There's darkness here, but it's not nihilism - and there's hope, but it's not naivety," says Bridge on the album. "What we made is something that feels like it was written by real people living through the same experience as everyone else."

Excited to share their new album with fans, Northlane are embarking on an Australian tour this November.

The band's biggest headline tour of the country includes support from After The Burial (USA), Cenobia and Above and Below.

The tour commences at Metro City in Perth on Thursday 5 November, followed by dates at Melbourne's Festival Hall on Saturday 7 November, Adelaide's Thebarton Theatre on Sunday 8 November and Sydney's Enmore Theatre on Wednesday 11 November, with Northlane finishing the tour with shows at Bar On The Hill in Newcastle on Friday 13 November and Fortitude Music Hall in Brisbane on Saturday 14 November.
