There’s no doubt that The Lemon Twigs were born in the wrong era. The '60s-loving brothers craft boppy pop reminiscent of The Beach Boys, with their latest single, ‘2 or 3’, another pleasant earworm with giddy harmonies.
Taken from Brian and Michael D'Addario’s new album Look For Your Mind!, out Friday 8 May via Captured Tracks/Civilians (pre-order here), the track, like the album, features the inclusion of live members Reza Matin (drums) and Danny Ayala (bass), along with Eva Chambers of Tchotchke.
“We played for the first time in Buenos Aires last year and I woke up the next morning having dreamt the chorus,” says Brian of ‘2 or 3’. “It’s a rare thing for me and even rarer that I end up remembering the words. I had to interpret what ‘she’s lived 2 or 3 as many lives as me’ meant. It made me think of a guy who wasn’t cultured or worldly enough for his girlfriend and had to pretend to be interested in fine art and history.”
The follow-up to 2024’s A Dream Is All We Know, The Lemon Twigs sixth record, is also produced by the brothers, giving the duo greater creative freedom.

Brothers Brian and Michael D'Addario have been making music as The Lemon Twigs for just over a decade.
During that time, they’ve released five studio albums, with last year’s A Dream Is All We Know widely praised by NME, The Times, The Telegraph and more.
Michael has also released a solo record, Till the Morning, while the brothers produced their father’s solo album, Written by Ronnie D'Addario.
It’s been three years since The Lemon Twigs last toured down under, and having announced an extensive 2026 touring schedule that includes gigs in the US, Canada, the UK and Ireland, we’re hopeful the duo will return to Australia soon.
