The East Pointers Announce Australian Tour 2027

Canadian folk outfit The East Pointers are releasing a deluxe edition of their latest album Schoonertown, out Friday 11 December, and to celebrate, the duo have announced they are returning to Australia for a run of shows.

Last in the country in 2025, the duo of Tim Chaisson (vocals, fiddle) and Jake Charron (guitar, synthesiser) have locked in a stack of intimate venues along the East Coast, as well as booking an appearance at this year's Woodford Folk Festival.

Arriving at the end of the year for Woodford Folk Festival in Woodford from Tuesday 29 December to Friday 1 January, The East Pointers kick off their official run of headline dates at Eumundi's Imperial Hotel on Saturday 2 January.

This is followed by shows at Gold Coast's Soundlounge on Sunday 3 January, Geelong's Arts Centre on Tuesday 5 January, Melbourne's Corner Hotel on Wednesday 6 January and Adelaide's The Wheatsheaf Hotel on Thursday 7 January.

The final three shows take place at the Vanguard in Sydney on Friday 8 January, Cairns' TANKS on Saturday 9 January and Brisbane's The Triffid on Sunday 10 January.

Support comes from UK singer-songwriter Logan Richard and emerging Australian talent Eleea.

Coming together in 2014, The East Pointers were originally a trio featuring Jake Charron, Koady Chaisson and Tim Chaisson.

They released several albums together before Koady tragically passed away in 2022, with Charron and Chaisson deciding to continue the band as a duo.

They've gone on to release a number of projects since, including last year's Schoonertown, which fuses folk, alt and pop into 12 tracks capturing nights out, first love, growing up and the heady emotions young adults experience.
