Local hard rockers The Coogees have followed up the release of their vintage rock single ‘Anthem of the True Believers’ with new tune, ‘War Song’.
Comprising vocalist Joel Giannitto, guitarists Danny Giannitto and Matt Disisto, bassist Andrew Cutting, drummer Jonnie Giannitto and keyboardist Jason Forte, the band’s latest release echoes Metallica’s epic ‘80s hit ‘One’.
‘War Song’ pairs heavy riffs with fierce percussion and lyrics about the futility of war. In a statement posted on social media, the band had this to say about the track: “A loud, raw track that pushes back against violence, destruction and the damage war leaves behind. It’s about standing against chaos, questioning the cost, and giving a voice to the anger, pain, and heartbreak that war creates. Stream it now and let us know what it means to you.”
