Adelaide pop-punkers Teenage Joans are back with ripping new single, ‘Sweet and Slow’.
The duo of vocalist and drummer Tahlia Borg and vocalist and guitarist Cahli Blakers deliver another lively tune that will have the mosh going off. Co-written with producer and musician Jayden Seeley, ‘Sweet and Slow’ combines Teenage Joans’ catchy riffs and anthemic hooks with a pop sensibility that’s hard not to love.
“We love to refer to ‘Sweet and Slow’ as our ‘Disney Channel’ song, as it emanates that early 2010s pop-punk sound,” says Blakers. “We brought this super catchy chorus we had written to Jayden Seely, who co-wrote the song with us. It was our first session with him, and the energy in the room was great—we all knew we were writing such a fun song.”
The exciting duo, who broke through after winning triple j’s Unearthed High competition, have announced three shows in support of ‘Sweet and Slow’. They are playing an all-ages gig at Jive in their hometown of Adelaide this weekend on Sunday, April 6, before two shows at The Tote in Melbourne on Friday, April 25, with the first being a matinee all-ages performance and the second an 18+ evening show.
Tickets for all three shows are available now via teenagejoans.com.au.
