After more than 50 years of blood, sweat and tears, Australian heavy rockers Rose Tattoo are calling it a day, announcing a run of final shows across the nation.

Fronted by the unmistakable voice of Angry Anderson, Rose Tattoo influenced a generation of bands. Fans keen to see the group during the last tour will be treated to all the classics, including ‘Bad Boy For Love’, ‘Rock ‘N’ Roll Outlaw’, ‘Nice Boys’ and ‘We Can’t Be Beaten’, which all remain staples of Australian rock culture.

“Rose Tattoo has always been about our Brothers & Sisters,” says Angry Anderson. “The fans have carried us through every decade, every tour and every challenge. We’ve been incredibly fortunate to do what we love for so long, and now it’s time to celebrate that journey together one last time.”

Not only will Rose Tattoo play the hits, but this swansong sees the return of guitarist Rob Riley, who will join Anderson, Mick Arnold, Steve “Kingy” King and Paul Demarco on stage to celebrate Rose Tattoo’s remarkable legacy, performing the iconic album Scarred For Life in its entirety.

“Robin Riley, known around the world as Rockin’ Rob Riley, will join us for just a few very special dates,” says Anderson. “Robin joined to replace Mick in the early eighties. We went on to record the Scarred For Life album, which he contributed heavily to; he is responsible for those big songs, ‘Scarred For Life’, ‘We Can’t Be Beaten’, ‘Work Itself Out’, amongst others.

“Rob contributed to the album Pain with song-writing and his signature monster guitar playing, he is unique in style and in my opinion one of the great Rock and Roll guitarists of all time, I rate him amongst my all-time favourites, his rhythm feels can’t be beaten, and his blistering solos are legendary, so come see RRR play with the Rosie Tatts one last time!”

The Tatts will be joined by Willie J’s 6V6’s and Hot Machine at all shows bar Adelaide.

Kicking off in September, Rose Tattoo play Melbourne’s Prince Bandroom on Friday 18 September. Rose Tattoo then plays an afternoon show at The Gov in Adelaide on Sunday 20 September, followed by gigs at Sydney’s Factory Theatre on Friday 25 September and Brisbane’s The Triffid on Saturday 26 September.

Formed in 1976, Rose Tattoo are part of Australian rock history. Getting their start playing in pubs around Sydney, they soon graduated to bigger stages across the country before rocking out alongside the likes of ZZ Top and Aerosmith on tours across the UK, Europe and North America.

Releasing eight albums over the past half-century, including 1982’s Scarred For Life, which peaked at #11 on the ARIA Albums Chart, the Tatts gained a reputation for their blistering live shows and Anderson gruff on strage persona.

These upcoming farewell shows are a chance to celebrate Rose Tattoo’s legacy while saying goodbye to one of Australia’s most influential acts.
