Having just performed their 1,000th live show, Scott Bradlee’s enigmatic retro collective Postmodern Jukebox has announced they are returning to Australia next year. The band is bringing their ‘Magic & Moonlight’ tour to our shores for 11 dates across February.
Known for transforming modern pop hits into freewheeling 1920s jazz compositions, soulful Motown ditties and heart-fluttering doo-wop hits, the band has gained a huge following worldwide, with some of their best tracks including reworks of Lady Gaga’s ‘Bad Romance’, Tom Jones’ ‘It’s Not Unusual’ and Fleetwood Mac’s ‘The Chain’.
“If we’ve learned anything from ten years of touring the world, it’s that great music has the ability to transcend time and space in a way that is best described as ‘magic’,” says Bradlee, Postmodern Jukebox creator and show director. “In fact, all of us likely have a song or two that instantly transports us to another place. Our ‘Magic & Moonlight’ world tour is meant to celebrate this phenomenon through breathtaking live performances that will be remembered long after the curtain falls.”
Postmodern Jukebox’s tour commences in Darwin at the Darwin Entertainment Centre on Tuesday, February 4. The group then heads to Perth for two shows at the Astor Theatre on Thursday, February 6 and Friday, February 7. The ‘Magic & Moonlight’ tour then heads to the east coast with shows at the Festival Theatre in Adelaide on Sunday, February 9, Hammer Hall in Melbourne on Monday, February 10, Geelong Arts Centre in Geelong on Wednesday, February 12, Sydney Opera House in Sydney on Thursday, February 13 and Llewellyn Hall in Canberra on Friday, February 14. The final three dates include stops at Anita’s Theatre in Wollongong on Sunday, February 16, The Star Gold Coast on the Gold Coast on Wednesday, February 19 and City Hall in Brisbane on Thursday, February 20.
Tickets for all shows are on sale now via TEG DAINTY.

The success of the band’s videos landed them a spot on the Dubai International Jazz Festival bill in 2016, leading to Bradlee taking Postmodern Jukebox on the road, performing across North America, Europe and Australia.
