Australian drill group ONEFOUR has today announced their first Australian headline tour in five years. The infamous rappers will play four shows in Melbourne, Fremantle, Brisbane and Adelaide between June and August of this year.
The much-hyped tour kicks off in Melbourne at Festival Hall on Saturday, June 8 as part of the Rising Festival. ONEFOUR then play shows in Fremantle at the Metropolis on Friday, July 5, in Brisbane at The Tivoli on Saturday, July 13 and at Hindley St Music Hall in Adelaide on Friday, August 2.
The tour announcement comes a week after ONEFOUR dropped their latest single, ‘Natural Habitat’. The track is another punch to the gut with the rappers delivering machine gun raps over a hard drill beat.
The Mount Druitt rap group’s rise to stardom began in 2017 when they released their first single, ‘Ready for War’. ONEFOUR went on to drop a string of singles throughout 2019 leading to the release of their top ten ARIA charting album, Against All Odds. But it hasn’t all been plain sailing.
NSW Police have condemned the group for their violent lyrics and links to the NF14 gang, which was the original name ONEFOUR went by. Just as it seemed ONEFOUR was set to take over the world, three of the group’s members, YP (Pio Misa), Lekks (Salec Su'a) and Celly (Dahcell Ramos), were jailed for violent crimes.
All three have served their time and are trying to distance themselves from the gang links that surround them, but they continue to be embroiled in controversy, with a murder plot to kill all four men uncovered in January of this year.
While the band did not know the plot existed, it has had an impact on the group, with YP quitting to become a pastor. The rest of the MCs are looking to put their criminal past behind them and concentrate on making music for their fans.
‘The Get Back Tour’ finally gives ONEFOUR fans across Australia to see the group in the flesh for what is sure to be one of the most explosive rap concerts in recent memory.
Pre-sale tickets go on sale Wednesday, May 29 at 8:30 am. You can register for pre-sale here. General sale commences Thursday, May 30 at 8:30am via onefour.world.
