UK singer-songwriter Olivia Dean has claimed triple j’s Hottest 100 countdown of 2025 with her hit single, ‘Man I Need’.

Taken from her worldwide chart-topping sophomore album The Art of Loving, ‘Man I Need’ was the fifth song by Dean to appear on the chart, starting with ‘Lady Lady’ at #62.

“It's kind of crazy, I feel like this song only just came into my life recently so for it to just be everywhere — it's changed my life,” Olivia told triple j hosts Concetta and Luka following her win. “No other song has ever done what this has done, and I'm just really grateful.”

Landing at #2 was pre-count favourite Keli Holiday with his monster track ‘Dancing2’, a song that has divided the public but appears to be loved by the triple j crowd. Tame Impala made it all the way to #3 with ‘Dracula’ while Playlunch’s hilarious song ‘Keith’ came in at #4. UK songstress Raye rounded out the top five with her single, ‘Where Is My Husband!”

This year’s count saw over 2.1 million votes submitted and marks the first time females have taken out the top spot three years in a row, with Dojo Cat taking the top spot in 2023, Chappelle Roan in 2024 and Oliva Dean in 2025.

Nick Findlay, triple j’s Manager of Music Programming, shares: “It’s no secret Olivia Dean has owned 2025. When ‘Man I Need’ dropped in August, it immediately won us over and wrapped up everything we love about Olivia Dean in a neat package: dance-ready soul that instantly warms your heart mixed with lyrics that uplift and empower, all driven by her stunning, flawless voice.

It’s been so great to see so much support pouring in for local artists this year. Off the back of the Hottest 100 of Australian Songs, a sold-out One Night Stand, and triple j 50th gigs all around the country, we knew our music-loving audience would show up and show a lot of love for their local faves. Congratulations to all of the Australian acts who made the Hottest 100 of 2025.”
