As he prepares to tour Australia next month, UK singer-songwriter Newton Faulkner has released his eighth studio album, Octopus, via Cooking Vinyl Records.
More than five years in the making, the album was written and produced in Faulkner’s East London Studio and finds the multi-award-winning artist experimenting with his sound. Incorporating funk, R&B, soul, pop and Latin grooves, the record also features Faulkner swapping his acoustic guitar for distortion charged Hofner violin bass.
Octopus includes contributions from Lissie, Los Bitchos and The Bloom Twins and was preceded by the singles ‘Alright Alright Alright’, ‘HuntingSeason’ and ‘Gravitational’.
