After a quiet 2025, Adelaide rockers alt. return with forceful new single ‘Sucker Punch’, out now via Resist Records (AU) and SharpTone Records (ROW).
This one has a bit of a mid-00 post-hardcore vibe with jagged guitars, a few screams and a dark edge.
“This song is our final stand,” says alt. “A fight back against an oppressive force that has lied, cheated, and taken everything we hold dear. ‘Sucker Punch’ captures that breaking point, when you’ve had enough of the lies and the control. It’s about fighting back, standing together, and being ready for the battle ahead. This time, we’re prepared.”
Produced, mixed and mastered with Callan Orr (Dream On Dreamer, Hands Like Houses), the track is accompanied by a striking music video produced by in-house guitarist and videographer Daniel Wells-Smith and Bryce Kraehenbuehl that captures the simmering tension of the song. Check it out below.

Founded in late 2019, alt. quickly established themselves as one of Adelaide’s shining lights in the alt-rock scene. Their debut EP, 2020’s dysfunctional, garnered over two million streams and was written alongside collaborators including Trenton Woodley, Jimmy Alexander, Luke McKenzie, Zach Britt and Chris Lalic.
Signing with Resist Records and SharpTone Records in 2022, alt. dropped their devastating debut album ABEYANCE a year later. alt. have gone on to share stages with the likes of Don Broco, Enter Shikari, Saosin, Dayseeker, Karnivool, Cog, Windwaker and more, while also playing festivals such as Froth and Fury Fest and Unify Off the Record.
