MusicSA’s annual South Australian Music Industry Survey returns for its third year in 2026.
The survey aids MusicSA in building “a comprehensive picture of the current contemporary music industry in South Australia.”
Anyone involved in the local scene is urged to give their two cents on the local scene, including artists, managers, venue operators, booking agents, production crews, photographers, writers, gig-goers and local music enthusiasts.
The data collected is used to assist in informing MusicSA’s approach to advocacy for the sector as they look to create more opportunities and navigate the major challenges facing the industry.
As with previous years, the survey is completely anonymous, and all the data collected will be collated and shared in a mid-year report that features key takeaways and recommendations as to what needs to be done to keep the SA music ecosystem thriving.
The survey should take no longer than 10-15 minutes and can be found here. The SA Music Industry Survey closes at 11:59pm Sunday 31 May.

The survey aims to assist those making the hard decisions about how to structure MusicSA’s Industry Development programs to better reflect the current opportunities and challenges the industry faces.
It also gives great insight into what’s happening across the industry, enabling MusicSA to implement the correct support systems to grow the local scene while also giving the organisation a platform to advocate to government and key stakeholders.
The results will be shared in a mid-year report on the MusicSA website.
