‘Prizefighter’ is the latest single taken from Mumford & Sons’ upcoming album of the same name. The band’s sixth album arrives February 13, less than a year after this year’s Rushmere, which debuted at #1 on the UK Albums Chart and climbed to #7 on the ARIA Albums Chart.
‘Prizefighter’ is an acoustic track written with Justin Vernon (Bon Iver) and Aaron Dessner (The National). It veers into Bon Iver territory, which makes sense considering Vernon was involved in the writing process.
As for the album, Prizefighter was recorded in just ten days at Long Pond and with contributions from the likes of Hozier, Gracie Abrams and Chris Stapleton. The album contains 14 songs, including the title track and first single, ‘Rubber Band Man’.
