Miss Kaninna Adds New Shows To ‘Blackprint’ Tour, Including An Adelaide Date

 

Miss Kaninna is taking over UniBar Adelaide this October for what promises to be one hell of a show.

After selling out four of her seven shows as part of the Blackprint tour, Miss Kaninna has announced a stack of new dates due to demand, including an Adelaide show. Yew!

Touring in support of her upcoming mixtape BLACKPRINT, which drops on Friday 21 August via Soul Has No Tempo/AWAL Recordings, the proud Yorta Yorta, Dja Dja Wurrung, Kalkadoon and Yirendali sovereign woman and Naarm/Melbourne-via-lutruwita/Tasmania artist has expanded the tour to include five new shows with a couple of venue upgrades.

The tour kicks off on Whadjuk Noongar Country, Boorloo/Perth, at the Rosemount Hotel on Friday 21 August. This is followed by the first new show at Albany Town Hall on Menang Noongar Country, Kinjarling/Albany, on Saturday 22 August. Miss Kaninna rounds out the month with shows on Friday 28 August, at Mayberry on Larrakia Country, Garramilla/Darwin, and Saturday 29 August, at Alice Springs Brewing Co on Arrernte Country, Mparntwe/Alice Springs.

The tour resumes at The Brightside on Turrbal Country, Magan-djin/Brisbane, on Friday 11 September, followed by two shows at Oxford Art Factory on Gadigal Country, Warrane/Sydney, on Saturday 12 (sold out) and Sunday 13 September. The tour then hits the Northcote Theatre on Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country, Naarm/Melbourne, on Friday 18 September, the Royal Theatre on Dja Dja Wurrung Country, Castlemaine, on Saturday 19 September, UniBar on Kaurna Country, Tarndanya/Adelaide, on Saturday 3 October and Odeon Theatre on Lutruwita Country, Nipaluna/Hobart, on Saturday 9 October, coming to an end on Bundjalung Country, Cavanbah/Byron Bay, at Dingo Festival on Sunday 11 October.

Miss Kaninna’s upcoming mixtape merges hip hop with funk, soul, R&B, punk, rock, grunge and more. The talented artist has also reached out to some of her good friends to be part of BLACKPRINT, with a star-studded lineup of guests appearing on the mixtape, including Kobie Dee and Jamahl Yami.

Speaking on the title of her six-track mixtape that includes the singles ‘MOB TIES’ and ‘HANDOUT’, Miss Kaninna says, “We know we’re the key to start of civilisation, we're literally the blueprint and we don't care if white people agree or not, we aren't gonna wait for you.”
