Presented by 7HP and The Prince Albert Hotel, this one-day metal spectacular features 14 bands performing over 12 hours in the heart of Gawler at The Prince Albert Hotel on Saturday 25 October.
This year’s event, entitled Metal On Murray XL, is headlined by local lads Hidden Intent, performing their first hometown show since a massively successful tour of Europe and the UK. Hidden Intent will be performing tracks from their new album Terrorform, along with songs from their stacked catalogue.
Joining them will be metalcore party starters Those Left Behind, NSW deathcore beasts Arkángel, who are playing in SA for the first time; heavy legends Strength Of A Bear, playing their first gig since 2013; crowd favourites High Ground and punk purveyors Witch Spit.
Also taking to the stage across the Metal On Murray XL are Victorian hardcore act Abreact, nu metal scallywags Suffer The Evenue, Die Hard inspired power trio Nakatomi Plaza and Melbourne’s Bitter Kind.
Rounding out this year’s bill are thrash masters Broken Loose, old school metalcore groovers A Murder Of Crows, regional NSW act Inherit Nothing and the Gawler Youth Band, who will be opening up proceedings.
This year’s Metal On Murray features a slew of market stalls for those looking to support local businesses. Underground Records will be slinging records for all the vinyl fiends out there, Spoggy and Sage have all manner of oddities and curiosities up for grabs and Bestek Jewellery will be on deck with all sorts of handmade jewellery.
Treat your dog with tasty snacks from Wagalicious Dog Co., get yourself some woollen dreadlocks at Wild Moonstone Alchemy, sort your nana out with some crochet goodies from Dannin's Handmade or splash the cash at Babalon, where you can find a great selection of alt jewellery and accessories.
There will be plenty of food and drink options available from The Prince Albert Hotel, while The Little Loaf will be dishing out delicious treats for those who have a sweet tooth.
Punters can also pre-order Metal On Murray merch by sending organisers a message here.
As with previous years, Metal On Murray is an all-ages, family-friendly and inclusive event, with kids under 12 free. Be advised, this year’s event will be cashless, so be sure to have your card with you.
