Former Spice Girl Melanie C is back with new music in the form of the addictive club track, ‘Sweat’.
Taken from the vocalist and DJ’s upcoming new album of the same name, due for release on May 1, 2026 via Virgin Music Group (pre-order here), ‘Sweat’ is a throwback dance hit that draws from Melanie C’s first early years as Melanie Chisholm of “The F**king Yeah Four”, a group of 18-year-old mates who immersed themselves in the rave scene of the early ‘90s.
Currently seen on Australian screens as a judge on talent show The Voice, Melanie C’s ‘Sweat’ samples Diana Ross’s ‘Work That Body’ and is accompanied by a music video inspired by vintage workout tapes of the ‘80s.
“Sports, raving, finding joy - these elements are such a huge part of my personality,” Melanie C explains. “What works in the club works in the gym - there’s a real crossover.”
Recorded in London, Stockholm and LA, Mel C sees Sweat as a celebration of joy, movement and community, with the album 13 tracks of feel-good, upbeat EDM made for dancing.
Speaking on the album, Mel C says, “I’ve done a lot of soul-searching. Now I just want to have some fun and get people dancing again.”
She adds, “There are so many horrific things going on in the world, when you make pop and dance music, it can seem almost churlish. But music is what gets me through tough moments. I’m really happy I am bringing out a joyful record at a very dark time.”

As a member of the Spice Girls, Melanie C was part of the biggest girl group in history. Despite only releasing three albums – Spice (1996), Spiceworld (1997) and Forever (2000) – the group sold over 100 million albums worldwide, making them the best-selling girl group of all time.
Officially disbanding in 2000, the Spice Girls have reformed several times and performed together over the past 25 years, with Melanie C also finding success as a solo artist. Her debut record Northern Star (1999) debuted at #4 on the UK Album Chart and produced the #1 hits ‘Never Be the Same Again’ and ‘I Turn To You’.
Melanie C has released a total of eight albums and also became a renowned DJ, spinning tracks at famed Ibiza clubs like Pacha and Café Mambo and festivals and clubs across the world.
Sweat ushers in the next chapter of Melanie C’s career as she reconnects with the club music that soundtrack her youth.
