It’s all happening in the world of Meg Mac in 2026, with the Sydneysider announcing her fourth album, It’s My Party, sharing new single ‘Outdown’, and revealing a run of intimate theatre shows.
It’s My Party is scheduled for release on Friday 20 February (pre-order here) and was written and recorded between London and Los Angeles. Produced by acclaimed UK producer Bullion (Carly Rae Jepsen, Ben Howard), the album is composed of alt-pop ditties with an electronic edge.
“I thought I had this whole album planned out - I was going for this dark, witchy vibe and I was SO serious,” Meg says. “Then honestly, not one thing went to plan and I was forced to let go for once in my life.” That release became central to the album’s emotional core. “I’ve spent most of my career being stressed, but somehow I stopped trying to control it all and found the magic in collaboration, being open and not worrying so much.
Meg credits her partnership with Bullion as transformative. “I’m forever grateful to Bullion. Our paths crossed in London and he taught me to follow creativity and fun, and not to worry - and I love what we’ve made together.”
Following the release of recent singles ‘He Said No’, ‘Tune I’ll Be Singing Till I’m Dead’ and ‘Sometimes’, latest track ‘Outdone’ can be best described as a moody synth creation highlighting Mac’s irresistible vocals.
To coincide with the release of It’s My Party, Mac has announced a run of special theatre shows across Australia in collaboration with award-winning director and lighting designer Alexander Berlage.
She plays Sydney’s York Theatre on Friday 27 February, Melbourne’s Merlyn Theatre on Saturday 14 March, Brisbane’s Powerhouse Theatre on Friday 20 March and Perth’s Octagon Theatre on Saturday 28 March, finishing the tour in Adelaide at the Dunstan Playhouse on Wednesday 1 April.
Pre-sale tickets are available on Wednesday 21 January, with general on-sale kicking off on Friday 23 January. For more info, visit megmac.com.
