Those worried LANY might have to cancel their Australian tour can breathe easy. The band has released rescheduled dates for their ‘a beautiful blur: The World Tour’, with all tickets sold valid for the new dates.
The rescheduling comes after guitarist and lead vocalist Paul Klein was knocked off his scooter last week. The serious accident saw Klein banged up and in hospital, but like a true professional, the show must go on.
Klein and drummer Jake Goss will now start the tour in Perth at HBF Stadium on Tuesday, September 17. The duo then plays a sole date in October at Auckland Town Hall in Aukland, New Zealand on Wednesday 30.
The remaining tour dates take place throughout November, beginning with a show at MCA in Melbourne on Friday, November 1. Then it’s off to Hindley St Music Hall in Adelaide on Sunday, November 3 and Hordern Pavilion in Sydney on Wednesday, November 6 before a final show at The Fortitude Music Hall in Brisbane on Friday, November 8.
“here are your RESCHEDULED dates. all tickets and vip for the original shows remain valid,” LANY explained on social media. “if you already have tickets, you don’t need to do anything else! if you can no longer make it, you can request a refund from your original point of purchase x”
While the tour going ahead is good, what’s better is news Klein’s health is fast improving, with the singer said to be in high spirits and well on the road to recovery.
“I don’t really remember anything after the collision… I woke up on a stretcher being put into an ambulance,” Klein shared in a press statement. “I’ve cried a lot of thankful and happy tears during the last few days. I know how fortunate I am to still be here. All of my vitals are good, but walking and moving around is still a challenge. I’m getting progressively better though and will be at 100% really soon.”
The tour comes in support of LANY’s fifth studio album, A Beautiful Blur. The album peaked at #4 on the ARIA Album chart, making it the duo’s highest-ever charting album. Support for the tour comes from Kiwi pop indie act Yumi Zouma.
Tickets for LANY’s Adelaide show at Hindley St Music Hall on Sunday, November 3 are still available via Moshtix.
