Katy Steele Shares Cover of Lou Reed’s ‘Perfect Day’, Announces National Tour
The singer-songwriter's national tour finds Steele performing a set of stripped-back crowd pleasers.

Sometimes Little Birdy frontwoman and powerful vocalist Katy Steele is hitting the road this April and May for a run of acoustic shows.
Steele’s undressed National Tour finds the revered vocalist bringing to life songs from her upcoming undressed EP alongside reimagined versions of Little Birdy favourites, solo material, and carefully chosen covers.
Giving fans a taste of what to expect, Steele has shared a stripped-back cover of Lou Reed’s timeless ‘Perfect Day’, highlighting Steele’s incredible voice.
Steele’s upcoming shows will feature her voice, her instruments and one other musician, giving fans an intimate live experience in some of the country’s most iconic venues.
Katy Steele’s Undressed National Tour kicks off with two shows in April at Hobart’s Altar Bar on Thursday 23 April and Adelaide’s Lion Arts Factory on Thursday 30 April. Dates then follow at Melbourne’s Northcote Social Club on Friday 1 May, Petrie Terrace’s Lefty’s on Thursday 7 May, Sydney’s Mary’s Underground on Friday 8 May and Canberra’s Belco Arts Centre on Saturday 9 May, with the final gig at Perth’s The Rosemount on Friday 29 May.

After touring Australia with Little Birdy in 2025 to celebrate the 21st anniversary of the band’s BigBigLove record, Katy Steele’s upcoming undressed tour was inspired during a transformative period in the artist’s life.
Returning to the studio without any expectations, she enjoyed the freedom that gave her, writing and recording songs that were imperfect and unpolished.
The EP she ended up recording was done so in a single day in July last year, with the collection of songs also drawing on unreleased sessions made over the years in New York and Los Angeles and inspired by Cat Power’s Covers.
The undressed tour is not just a live show - it’s a return to form, a release, and a reminder of the power of simplicity.
