Josh Pyke Shares New Album ‘Live With the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra’

 

The album was recorded during Josh Pyke’s Adelaide gig at the Festival Theatre.

To mark the 20th Anniversary of his iconic debut release Feeding the Wolves, Australian singer-songwriter Josh Pyke announced a special show with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra at the beloved Festival Theatre.

Fast forward six months, and Pyke has released an official recording of that performance, entitled Live With the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra (listen here).

The album features ten tracks featuring the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra and conductor Vanessa Scammell, including fan favourites ‘Middle of the Hill’ and ‘Feeding the Wolves’.

Taking to social media to announce the album, Pyke wrote: Today I’m releasing my live album with the ASO. Last year, we celebrated Feeding the Wolves turning 20, and this night was pure magic.

“So grateful to the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra and incredible conductor Vanessa Scammell for making me feel right at home in front of these insanely talented musicians.

“Huge thanks also to Alex Turley for the additional arrangements and Bob Scott for mixing and mastering.

“These songs were written in my bedroom… and somehow ended up being performed by the ASO. What is my life??

“So happy we captured the magic and I finally get to share it with you. Go listen. tell me what you think.”

Last year saw Josh Pyke touring Feeding the Wolves across Australia, playing capital cities, before heading to Europe for a run of shows.

Having supported Travis on their recent Australian tour, Pyke is now taking Feeding the Wolves regional and is just a few shows into his 38-date tour.
