Iconic British artist Joe Jackson makes his long-awaited return down under in 2027, locking in several shows in Australia and New Zealand across January and February.
The tour coincides with the recent release of Jackson's twenty-second album, Hope and Fury, which dropped in March. Inspired by his love-hate relationship with England, Jackson will perform many of the tracks from his latest release, alongside all the classics, with the singer, songwriter and musician describing his tour as “playing the songs people love, alongside the ones that still surprise me.”
Jackson will be joined on tour by his talented touring band consisting of bassist Graham Maby, guitarist Teddy Kumpel, drummer Doug Yowell and percussionist Felipe Fournier.
The Hope and Fury tour gets underway in New Zealand with shows at Christchurch Town Hall on Saturday 23 January and Auckland’s Town Hall on Tuesday 26 January. Jackson then pops across the pond for concerts at Sydney’s State Theatre on Thursday 28 January, Fortitude Music Hall in Brisbane on Monday 1 February, Hamer Hall in Melbourne on Wednesday 3 February and Adelaide’s Thebarton Theatre on Saturday 6 February, wrapping things up in Perth at Riverside Theatre on Tuesday 9 February.
Pre-sale takes place at 10am AEST on Thursday 9 July. Sign up here. General on-sale follows at 10am AEST on Monday 13 July via
Getting his start playing for various bands in the ‘70s, it was the following decade when Joe Jackson broke through with a string of chart successes, including ‘Is She Really Going Out with Him?’, ‘Steppin’ Out’ and ‘Real Men’.
He’s continued to release albums at a prolific rate, along with producing them for other artists, with his sound continuing to evolve and channel everything from new wave, rock and jazz to classical and pop, all while showcasing his famous English banter.
Jackson’s current world tour began in May of this year, starting with gigs across the United States and Canada, before he finally makes his triumphant Australian and New Zealand return early next year.
