Manchester’s beloved 19-year-old is touring in support of last year’s I Urinated on a Butterfly.
Manchester’s Jim E. Brown makes his Australian and New Zealand return this winter.
The self-described obese alcoholic who suffers from various degenerative conditions is inspired by the UK’s post-punk scene of the early ‘90s, crafting unique songs that give an interesting insight into who Brown is without ever really exploring his true identity.
Touring in support of last year’s comically titled I Urinated on a Butterfly, Brown has locked in seven headline shows that are already selling fast.
The tour kicks off in Melbourne at Howler on Friday 19 June and continues with dates at Fremantle’s Buffalo Club on Saturday 20 June, Brisbane’s Black Bear Lodge on Thursday 25 June, Sydney’s Mary’s Underground on Friday 26 June, Adelaide’s Golden Wattle on Saturday 27 June and Hobart’s Altar on Wednesday 1 July, with the final show taking place in New Zealand at Double Whammy in Auckland on Saturday 4 July.
Tickets are on sale now at roadrunner-tours.com.

Claiming to be 19 years of age, Jim E. Brown is somewhat of an enigma. There is a smattering of information about him on the internet, but what is fact and what is fiction is hard to decipher, although many believe Brown is the alias for 40-something American and ex-animation filmmaker Max Margulies, who is credited with writing Brown’s music.
Whoever he really is, Brown’s live shows have a reputation for being chaotic and include everything from spoken word portions to over-the-top tales sandwiched between synth-pop ditties, with Brown often likened to The Fall’s Mark E. Smith.
Catch Jim E. Brown at the Golden Wattle on Saturday 27 June. Tickets on sale at roadrunner-tours.com.
