Almost ten years after the release of Jamie xx’s debut album, In Colour, the UK musician, DJ and record producer finally returns with the follow-up In Waves.
Dropping September 20 via Young, the 12-track record features collaborations with Robyn, The Avalanches, Panda Bear and more. Jamie xx has been working on the album for the past four years, with his bandmates from The xx, Romy and Oliver Sim both involved in its creation.
Not only has Jamie xx revealed the album name and tracklist, but the Grammy Award-nominated artist has also shared the music video for new tune ‘Treat Each Other Right’.
The track follows on from the album’s first single, ‘Baddy on the Floor’ featuring Honey Dijon, and is a disco-infused wonderland with a music video by photographer and filmmaker Rosie Marks.

In a press statement about the album, Jamie xx said:
“My new album, In Waves, will be out on September 20th. I am so unbelievably happy. It’s been a while… and a lot has happened in that time. Ups and downs, growing up, figuring stuff out and then forgetting it all many times over. Life changing events and world changing events. These waves that we have all experienced together and alone.
”I wanted to make something fun, joyful and introspective all at once. The best moments on a dance floor are usually that for me. I can’t wait to share it with you.”
Along with the standard release, a deluxe edition of the album will be available that includes the singles ‘It’s So Good’, ‘Kill Dem’ and ‘Let’s Do It Agina’ plus two unreleased bonus tracks.
In Waves is released on September 20. You can pre-order the album here. Check out the artwork and tracklist below.
