Lumen Ad Mortem – ‘Ghost Gums’

“To the skies, midnight fires rage,” vocalist Grego Pikl ferociously shrieks in poetic vehemence as Adelaide’s Lumen Ad Mortem brilliantly bewilder their spectators with their barbaric cinematic black metal. These scintillating six words flawlessly encapsulate the blazing bombardment of eloquent savagery showcased on ‘Ghost Gums’. The dissonant glow that erupts from the Spectral Wound-inspired resonance would light up the skies in scorching metallic magnificence. The composition sensationally swells with Behemoth-motivated orchestration, incorporating horns and synthesisers for a thrilling theatrical finish.

Poison The Well

Peace In Place is the first full-length from Florida’s post-metalcore luminaries Poison The Well in 18 years. Astoundingly, it was 17 years ago that PTW last brought Australia to a ‘Trembling Level’ with their unhinged live performances. Thankfully, the wait is over. Having been a featured outfit at Big Day Out and Soundwave, as well as a cited influential act for their pioneering musical evolution, this is a must-see!

The quartet showcase a Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds darkened motif with the cacophonous doom metal of EyeHateGod, as well as nu-metal and punk glimmerings.
