Ohio emo veterans Hawthorne Heights are the latest outfit to return to Australia to celebrate an album anniversary – the band’s seminal release, If Only You Were Lonely.
Turning 20 in 2026, the album remains a landmark release in the emo genre and produced fan favourite tracks ‘Saying Sorry’ and ‘This Is Who We Are’.
Produced by David Bendeth (Paramore, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Breaking Benjamin), If Only You Were Lonely debuted at #3 on the Billboard 200 and #1 on the Top Independent Albums chart, and received rave reviews.
To commemorate the album, Hawthorne Heights are heading our way in April next year, bringing along New Jersey post-hardcore legends Armor For Sleep for the ride.
The five-date tour kicks off on Wednesday 22 April at Magnet House in Perth, before making its way to The Gov in Adelaide (Friday 24 April), The Croxton Bandroom in Melbourne (Saturday 25 April) and Manning Bar in Sydney (Sunday 26 April), wrapping up at The Brightside Outdoors in Brisbane on Tuesday 28 April.

Hawthorne Heights have endured much across their 20 plus year career, including unscrupulous record labels and personal tragedy. Despite all these setbacks, they continue to defy the odds.
They’ve released 15 studio albums, including last year’s collaborative effort with A Day in the Life, Nine Reasons To Say Goodbye, and have inspired a generation of emo kids.
The current lineup of founders, James Thomas Woodruff and Matt Ridenour, alongside Mark McMillon, are currently touring North America before bringing the fun down under in 2026.
