Brisbane’s Full Flower Moon Band (FFMB) is hitting the road later this year in support of their forthcoming third album, Megaflower.
Lead by the force of nature that is Kate Dillon, the band’s vocalist and chief songwriter, FFMB has a stoner rock edge to their grinding guitar sound that has to be heard live to be fully appreciated.
So it’s a good thing FFMB is going on tour, with the lineup of Dillon, guitarists Caleb Widener and Christian Driscoll, bassist Marli Smales and drummer Luke Hanson, locking in seven shows across the nation this August and September.
The album tour commences in Melbourne on Friday, August 23 at Howler before the band plays The Bridge in Castlemaine on Saturday, August 24 and Lion Arts Factory in Adelaide on Saturday, August 31.
September sees Full Flower Moon Band play four gigs, starting with the Princess Theatre in Brisbane on Friday, September 6 before heading to King St Warehouse in Newcastle on Friday, September 13, The Lansdowne in Sydney on Saturday, September 14 and La La La’s in Wollongong on Sunday, September 15.
No support acts have been announced, but the band promises some very special guests will be joining them on tour.
Tickets for all dates are on sale now via the Full Flower Moon Band’s website.
FFMB has been building a loyal following over the past several years, with founder Babyshakes Dillon continuing to evolve the band’s sound with each release.
Third album Megaflower features the current lineup and was produced by Dillon and mixed by the award-winning Tony Buchen (Kirin J Callinan, Troye Sivan), someone Dillon counts as a mentor.
When it comes to what listeners can expect from the album, Dillon said in a statement: “I hope people hit a sense of pleasurable listening. Every single song feels like it’s there for a reason. I hope they feel liberated listening to it, because we go everywhere together. I hope people enjoy the generosity of that emotion and pick up on the fearlessness of it, and get a sense of fearlessness themselves – because that’s what it took.”
Tickets for Full Flower Moon Band’s Lion Arts Factory show are on sale now via Moshtix.
