Early last month, Foxtel announced it was scrapping its music channels, much to the dismay of music lovers.

Well, lo and behold, the streaming giant has reversed its decisions, this week announcing it would not only be keeping its two main channels (Max and CMT), but unveiling 34 new channels.

These new channels come about after Foxtel struck a deal with Nightlife Music and LiSTNR, along with extending its current partnership with Vevo.

The eight main channels include Max (ch.806), CMC (ch.805), Retro (ch.804), Club (ch.803), Kids (ch.802) and Australian Played (ch.807), which will feature Aussie artists only, from classic hits to emerging new artists.

There will be two new Vevo channels – Vevo 70s and Vevo Country – joining the established Vevo Pop, Vevo Rock, Vevo 90s and Vevo 2K on the platform.

Foxtel’s partnership with LiSTNR will result in 25 curated playlists including Triple M’s awesome suite of stations (Classic Rock, Country, 70s, 80s, 90s and 2000s), The Hit Network’s lineup of stations (RnB Fridays Radio, Dance Hits, Blender Beats, Oldskool 80s and 90s Hits and Easy Hits) and a selection of indie, chill and roadtrip focused playlists.

Both the Nightlife and Vevo are available from today (July 1), with the LiSTNR channels coming soon.
