After the success of the inaugural Hyde & Seek Street Festival at Rhino Room and Lowlife Bar last year, the venues are excited to announce the introduction of a new event Echoes Festival.

Described as an immersive celebration of post-rock, experimental and cinematic heavy music, Echoes Festival takes place on Saturday 9 May and is curated for fans of boundary-pushing rock, metal and alternative music.

The lineup features both local and national acts and is headlined by Sydney post-rockers Mensicus, who are making their Adelaide debut as part of Echoes Festival.

Joining Mensiucs on the stacked lineup are a trio of Melbourne bands: post-metal act Treebeard, prog rockers Bear the Mammoth and instrumental prog post-metal heroes Skin Thief.

The local contingent includes Kuiper, The Slow Light, The Unset, We See Moons, Spires, Mountains Below, Geomancer and Halfway Line.

There will be two stages set up across Rhino Room and Lowlife Bar, resulting in seven hours of non-stop music combined with absorbing visuals and lighting backed by a state-of-the-art sound system.

Tickets are on sale now at echoesfest.live.

Speaking to The Note about the festival, one of the organisers, Matt, had this to say: “Post-rock has always thrived on community. I’ve seen it first hand at dunk!festival and Post. Festival, I wanted to prove Adelaide could host something just as ambitious.

“With bands like Meniscus, Treebeard, Bear The Mammoth and Skin Thief alongside so many great established and emerging local bands, Echoes Festival is that statement”

Echoes Festival is another great South Australian initiative with an awesome lineup that’s sure to sell out fast, so be sure to grab your tickets asap!

Echoes Festival takes place at Rhino Room and Lowlife on Saturday 9 May. Tickets are on sale now at humanitix.com.
