Dune Rats & FIDLAR Announce Joint Australian Tour
The ten-date tour comes in support of both band’s forthcoming albums.
triple j and Village Sounds are excited to announce Dune Rats and FIDLAR are embarking on a joint Australian tour this August and September.
Having toured the UK together last year, the two bands found themselves shooting the shit backstage discussing their new albums and wanting to keep the party going. Realising their records were coming out six weeks apart – Dune Rats If It Sucks, Turn It Up drops on August 9 and FIDLAR’s SURVIVING THE DREAM on September 20 – the Dunies and FIDLAR decided it was the perfect time to jump in a van and hit the road together in celebration of their new releases.
The tour gets underway in Jindabyne at The Station on Wednesday, August 28. The two groups then play Waves in Wollongong on Thursday, August 29, Enmore Theatre in Syndey on Friday, August 30 and close out the month at Bar on the Hill in Newcastle on Saturday, August 31.
The party continues in September with a gig at Hindley St Music Hall in Adelaide on Thursday, September 5. This is followed by shows at The Forum in Melbourne on Friday, September 6 and the Torquay Hotel in Torquay on Saturday, September 7.
The final three dates include The Station on the Sunshine Coast on Thursday, September 12, The Tivoli in Brisbane on Friday, September 13, and a final blowout at Kingscliff Beach Hotel in Kingscliff on Saturday, September 14.

Speaking on the relationship between the bands, Dune Rats had this to say: “The FIDLAR / DUNIES relationship has honestly been a touring brotherhood that has seen us ping pong all over the world. It’s been the best part of a decade playing shows together that started when they first came to Australia doing venues half the size of the ones we are playing on this tour. Showing them the Aussie diet of beer and BBQs plus a bit of surfing and partying meant that when we wanted to tour the US, they bundled us into a van and spent 3 months seeing the States - from Gator Back scratchers in Florida to the bright lights of New York City. We went to the UK last year to play shows together and that’s where this tour came to fruition. Can’t wait to show them how crazy it is to play in Australia this time round, will definitely fit a few snags in too.”
FIDLAR adds: “The Dunies are like your favourite cousin that you only get to see every couple of years. You've known them forever, you like them more than some of your other cousins, you crack each other up, get into trouble, have a few heart-to-hearts even....when we get together...it's like a psycho little family reunion!!! Truly kindred Ledge Lords!”
Don’t miss out on the boozy antics from Dune Rats and FIDLAR when they arrive in Adelaide this September for what’s shaping up as one hell of a party!
