Dune Rats Drop Two Singles, Announce ‘Old Mates’ Album And 2026 Australian Tour

Currently touring Australia supporting Yungblud, Dune Rats have surprise-dropped two singles: new track ‘Sharks’ and a re-recorded version of fan favourite ‘Fuck It!’. The trio have also revealed their new album, Old Mates, is out March 6, and has announced a run of tour dates, although sadly South Australia isn’t included on the itinerary.
‘Sharks’ is classic Dune Rats. The track has a nostalgic feel with lyrics about choosing a creative path and trusting your instinct, complete with catchy riffs and Danny Beus’s gravely vocals.
“Sharks is about going against the current of the norm, and following what you wanna do even though you’re at the time it seems crazy to achieve it. When you’re in a band, a lot of friends and family think you’re mental to believe it’ll be your career,” the band shares.
The track is accompanied by a music video featuring footage of the band shot over the past 15 years, while ‘Fuck It!’ acts as the B-side and is a nifty bonus for fans.
Dune Rats’ sixth album, Old Mates, collects tracks from the band’s first three EPs alongside new single ‘Shark’, making for a celebration of the band’s past as they look to the next chapter.
The Dunies are also hitting the road with Surf Trash to celebrate the release of Old Mates in March and April. The tour takes in Brisbane, Sydney, Torquay, Melbourne, Merimbula and Sussex Inlet, with tickets on sale now at dunerats.tv.

Dune Rats are Danny Beus, BC Michaels and Brett Jansch, three friends who have been at the forefront of Brizzy’s DIY punk scene for more than 15 years.
Breaking through in 2017 with their sophomore album The Kids Will Know It's Bullshit, which debuted at #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart and includes the hit singles ‘Bullshit’ and ‘Scott Green’, they followed up with their second ARIA Albums Chart #1, Hurry Up and Wait, in 2020.
The ARIA Award-nominated act has had multiple songs in triple j’s Hottest 100 and played sold-out headline shows across the country. The lads have also played major festivals including Splendour In The Grass, Laneway, Falls Festival, and Groovin’ The Moo and regularly tour the USA, Europe, the UK and South Africa, performing to massive crowds.
