Nelly Furtado once sang, “Why do all good things come to an end?” In the case of Adelaide institution Crown and Anchor, the reason is progress. But that doesn’t mean the regulars can’t have one last blowout before the pub closes its doors for the next couple of years as the developers move in.
Taking place on Saturday 19 July, the Cranker is throwing one hell of a farewell (for now) bash featuring a stacked lineup of 12 awesome Aussie acts.
This free event kicks off at 2pm with bands performing well into the night. The bill is headlined by Oscar the Wild, who are gearing up for their own national tour in support of their second EP, Blue.
Also taking to the Cranker stage are Southern ratbags King Jeff & The How Are Yous, rock and rollers The Shadow Ministers, alt-rock project The Mondays, Melbourne four-piece Vermantics and post-emo act Propaine.
The lineup is rounded out by The Dandy Buzzkills, Paraphernalia, The Dainty Morsels, The Sundials, Haliday and Take Me Time Machine.
This is the last chance you’ll have for several years to experience the Cranker in all its glory, so be sure to get down early to secure your spot at the front of the stage for a thrilling evening of live music.
