It’s been a long time between drinks for British India. Eight years in fact, but the drought has been broken with the Aussie indie icons releasing rocking new single, ‘The Gospel of Luke’.
British India’s first song since the departure of founding member and original guitarist Nic Wilson, who has been replaced by Jack Tosi, is everything you could want from one of the country’s biggest mid-00s acts.
Soaring chorus? Check. Catchy hook? Check. Jangly guitar riffs? Check.
Produced with longtime producer Glenn Goldsmith and Aaron Dobos at Sing Sing Studios, ‘The Gospel of Luke’ is a redemptive three-and-a-half minutes of glorious rock and roll.
Speaking on the song, Declan MeliaMelia said, “All I want to do is play live rock n roll, it’s my lifeblood, which is why we kept playing gigs, but my urge to write songs just wasn’t there. Then one day, out of the blue, I picked up my guitar and ‘The Gospel Of Luke’ appeared.”
