Bigsound Shares Final Round of Speakers Before Official Program Drops

 

The full list of speakers and performers will be announced Wednesday July 23.

Ahead of the full BIGSOUND 2025 program drop this Wednesday 23 July, organisers have revealed several more big-name guests taking to the stage over the four-day event.

Held in a variety of venues across Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley from September 2–5, the new names attending the Southern Hemisphere’s biggest platform for live music discovery and connection include Rene Contreras from Goldenvoice, who is responsible for curating the artists performing at Coachella’s Sonora Tent, Andy Clayton, Creation Collective’s Head of Talent & Touring across Asia and Australia, Laneway’s Festival Director Jessie Parker, Head of ABC Music, ARIA Chair and CMA Board Member Nat Waller and Aussie music legend Richard Kingsmill.

Minister for the Arts John-Paul Langbroek said, “The BIGSOUND conference has built an international reputation for connecting artists to new networks and markets and promoting the state’s contemporary live music industry.

“This year’s BIGSOUND program offers industry stakeholders the opportunity to explore key issues with local and international music experts and influence the future of live music in Queensland and beyond. We’re proud to support QMusic and BIGSOUND to build markets, audiences and career development opportunities for Queensland artists and boost the state’s profile as a vibrant live music destination.”

BIGSOUND have also revealed the key Australian speakers attending the opening discussion, First World: One Brilliant Thing, which includes UNIFIED Music Group CEO & Founder Jaddan Comerford, Vinyl Music Group CEO Josh Simons and ARIA CEO Annabelle Herd.

triple j will also be getting in on the act, celebrating 50 years at BIGSOUND, while DJ and producer Nina Las Vegas is hosting a panel of label partners who will discuss significant milestones in the underground scene.

BIGSOUND Director of Programs, Mandi McIntyre, says of the 2025 program, “We are exceptionally excited by the calibre of guests who have prioritised participating in BIGSOUND this year. From the outset, we’ve sought to create a program of a truly international standard whilst being relevant and connected to the Australian music ecosystem. BIGSOUND is held at Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley precinct from Tuesday, September 3 to Friday, September 6. The full program drops Wednesday 23 July at 8:30am local time. Tickets are on sale now via BIGSOUND.
