Battle Beast’s Australian tour kicks off next week, and ahead of the first show, the Finnish metal lords have revealed the bands supporting them on the road.
A local act from each city has been handpicked to perform, with symphonic metal force Darkyra performing in Perth, rising metal outfit Falter in Adelaide, female-fronted heavy rockers ANA in Melbourne, gothic warriors Carmeria in Sydney and alt-metal powerhouse Krave in Brisbane.
Battle Beast’s long-awaited first trip to Australian shores also coincides with the announcement of the band’s new vocalist, with Marina La Torraca replacing the recently departed Noora Louhimo.
Speaking on joining Battle Beast, La Torraca said: “When I first saw an email with both Battle Beast and my name in the subject line, I honestly thought it had to be a mistake. But once I opened it, I couldn’t have been happier. I’m incredibly honoured to be part of this new chapter and deeply grateful for the trust and support from the band.
“Is it a little terrifying to follow in the wake of a vocal legend like Noora? You bet! Is it also very exciting? Absolutely. Battle Beast is one of the hardest-working and most genuinely talented bands out there, and I’m proud to be here to help them keep growing and spreading joy. Buckle up—this is going to be fun.”
Locked in to perform five shows, Battle Beast hit Perth’s Magnet House on Tuesday 10 March, Adelaide’s Lion Arts Factory on Wednesday 11 March, Melbourne’s Max Watts on Friday 13 March, Sydney’s Manning Bar on Saturday 14 March and Brisbane’s Crowbar on Sunday 15 March.
Tickets for all shows are on sale now at thephoenix.au.

One of the biggest metal bands to come out of Finland in the last 20 years, Battle Beast kick-started their career by winning the international Wacken Metal Battle 2010 competition along with a Finnish radio comp, leading to the band signing a record deal with Hype Records.
Battle Beast have released seven albums, including last year’s Steelbound, sold out tours across Europe and shared the stage with the likes of Sabaton and Nightwish.
The band’s upcoming tour of Australia will see new vocalist La Torraca joined by OG members Juuso Soinio (rhythm guitar), Pyry Vikki (drums), Eero Sipilä (bass, backing vocals) and Janne Björkroth (keytar, backing vocals), alongside Joona Björkroth (lead guitar, backing vocals), for what promises to be a powerful run of melodic metal shows.
