First gaining fame with groups Big Scary and No Mono, it's Tom Iansek's solo project #1 Dads that put him on the map.

Six years on from his last #1 Dads album, the acclaimed Golden Repair, Iansek is back with new album Every Little Fire, out Friday 16 October via Pieater.

The album arrives following a period of profound personal upheaval - a transatlantic relocation, a growing family and the rebuilding of his life from scratch.

"It was not an easy thing to do," Iansek says. "It has been an insane, wonderful, chaotic, intense and joyful period of my life."

Produced and mixed by Iansek in small rooms, including a DIY bedroom studio, Every Little Fire examines the pressures that come with being in your thirties.

Built on a foundation of Motown and soul, the first single 'Already Something' has been described by Iansek as "the only true love song on the record" and "a tribute to my partner of many years."

The song celebrates his relationship with his partner and the ups and downs they've gone through that have made them stronger. The addition of Gus Rigby on saxophone gives the track a sublime energy.

He adds, "Moving through difficult things as a partnership can challenge that partnership, but it can build strength and resilience."

Melbourne-born, London-based Tom Iansek rose to prominence in Australia over the past two decades as one half of the multi-award-winning Big Scary and No Mono. He also became known for his production work, collaborating with the likes of Maple Glider, Kate Miller-Heidke, The Paper Kites, Ruby Gill, Lisa Mitchell and more.

Striking out on his own as #1 Dads, Iansek became a cult favourite, debuting with 2011’s Man of Leisure and following up with 2014’s ARIA-nominated About Face and 2020’s Golden Repair.

Born of a period of dramatic upheaval, Every Little Fire is the Melbourne-bred, London-based artist’s most deeply personal record yet.
