We’re stoked to see you’re playing Nice Day To Go To The Club! What does Sunsick Daisy bring to the lineup? What should we expect from your set?
We think our sound will showcase the broadchurch of the Adelaide sound, merging influences from post-punk with catchy, dreamy alternative rock. For our set, expect explosive energy! We’re playing songs from our debut EP, Breathe in… Breathe out, and our 2024 releases. That, and we’re excited to introduce our upcoming EP!
Who else are you keen to catch on the lineup?
Ruby Fields and These New South Whales! We’ve been following what they’re doing for a while and we think they have a huge live sound.
You mentioned an upcoming EP – what did you learn from making your debut EP that you’ll apply to this project?
We’ve learnt it’s okay to try things and work things out. With our sophomore EP, we spent a lot more time [making it], and if ideas popped up, we’d try them out. We aren’t afraid to go back, readdress and re-track our music, whether it’s focusing on tone or rewriting it.
With that in mind, what’s next for you musically in 2025?
It’s a big one for us this year! We’re releasing a new single and our second EP over the next couple of months, as well as touring around Australia in February and March. During that tour we’ll be recording new songs in Sydney. This year, there will be lots of shows and lots of music we are very proud of and excited to release.
