Dark Mofo is once again set to take over Hobart, with organisers announcing the long-running festival will return from Wednesday 9 June to Tuesday 22 June 2027.

Next year's edition will kick off with The Gathering, a First Nations-led celebration featuring Palawa hip hop artist Kieran Lonergan.

Festival mainstays The Winter Feast, the Ogoh-Ogoh procession and burning and the Nude Solstice Swim will all be back, with the full arts, culture and music program set to be revealed early next year.

"Today we begin rousing the beast that is Dark Mofo," artistic director Chris Twite said.

"2027 will be our thirteenth iteration and we are pulling together another ambitious program of art, music, food and ritual for locals and visitors alike to plunge into headfirst."

Similar to this year, a limited number of tickets for Night Mass 2027 will go on sale next week at 10am on Tuesday 10 November. Register here.

"We know Dark Mofo is a major drawcard for visitors to Tasmania, with this year’s festival attracting nearly 116,000 individual visitors and generating more than $71.8 million for our State’s economy.

"After a stellar program in 2026, I can’t wait to see what the team has in store for us next year."
