Acclaimed Aussie talent Ziggy Alberts has announced the release of his upcoming sixth album, New Love. Arriving February 21 (pre-save here), the record was co-produced by Alberts and Garrett Kato (Pierce Brothers) and explores themes such as self-love and awareness.
Along with revealing the title of his forthcoming album, Alberts has shared new single, ‘Where Does the Love Go?” The acoustic track follows the previously released singles ‘Outlaw’ and ‘New Love’.
An intimate ballad about love that’s sonically inspired by the likes of Jose Gonzale and Nick Mulvey, Alberts is onto another winner with ‘Where Does the Love Go?”
Speaking about the tune, Albert shares: “It's a song I wrote about wondering where does the love go, when it's not us? It's a question I was asking myself when I was feeling a lack of self-love. Now that I've thought about it more, I think love disappears unless we embody it. And it is the responsibility of humanity, wherever possible, to keep it alive.”

The release of ‘Where Does the Love Go?’ arrives as Alberts enjoys another bumper career year, having been one of the headline acts at Bluesfest Byron Bay earlier this year. The Queenslander also toured alongside James Bay and Matt Corby as part of the Summersalt Festival and is preparing to embark on a tour of North America, Mexico and Japan, having sold out both his gigs in Mexico City.
The two-time APRA Award winner has released five albums to date, including the #2 ARIA Album Chart record Laps Around the Sound, amassed over 1.1 billion streams and garnered over 1.2 million monthly impressions on YouTube.
‘Where Does the Love Go?’ ushers in a new chapter in the career of Alberts and is a wonderful teaser of what to expect from his new record.
