Cali desert rockers Yawning Man are making the trek across Australia and New Zealand this April.
The current lineup of guitarist Gary Ace, vocalist and bassist Mario Lalli and drummer Bill Stinson are bringing their psych-rock experiments to 11 venues with support from the Rubber Snake Charmers (featuring Sean Wheeler and Mario Lalli with very special guests).
The tour begins with seven shows in Australia, beginning at Frankston’s Singing Bird Studios on Sunday 1 April. This is followed by shows at Melbourne’s Stay Gold (Monday 2 April), Wollongong’s LaLaLa’s (Tuesday 3 April), Sydney’s Marrickville Bowlo (Wednesday 4 April), Gold Coast’s Mo’s Desert Clubhouse (Thursday 5 April), Brisbane’s Leftys Music Hall (Friday 6 April) and Adelaide’s Ed Castle Hotel (Saturday 7 April).
Yawning Man finishes the tour with four shows in New Zealand at Wellington’s Meow (Monday 9 April), Christchurch’s Churchills (Tuesday 10 April), Auckland’s Mothership (Wednesday 11 April) and Raglan’s Harbour View on Thursday 12 April.

Originally formed in 1986 in the sun-baked deserts of Southern California, Yawning Man are pioneers of the American desert rock sound.
Blending cinematic guitar psychedelia, improvisation and expansive groove, Yawning Man have been making music for four decades, releasing their first album Rock Formations in 2005.
Their most recent release was last year’s Pavement Ends, with Yawning Man supporting the album with a tour of central Europe at the end of the year before locking in dates across Australia and New Zealand in April.
