After playing to sold out crowds on their Sweet Cocoon Tour earlier this year, The Rions are excited to announce they are getting back on the road for their biggest Australian tour yet!
The indie rock outfit has revealed they’ve locked in an incredible 21 shows across October, November and December in support of their forthcoming EP, Happiness In A Place It Shouldn’t Be, out on September 27 (pre-order/pre-save here).
The tour begins in Cairns on Friday, October 25 at Edge Hill Tavern and hits big cities and regional centres across the nation, including Gladstone, Byron Bay, Melbourne, Torquay, Adelaide and Fremantle, with the final date pencilled in for Saturday, December 14 in Brisbane at the Princess Theatre.
Tickets for all shows go on sale this Thursday, August 29 via The Rions’ website.
To celebrate the tour announcement, The Rions have shared new single, ‘Time Will Try’. A live favourite, the track is a groovy indie number influenced by the band’s friendship.
In a statement about the tune, The Rions reveal, “This track came about through reminiscing about the times the four of us spent together as 12-year-olds, and supposing a world in which we weren’t still friends. We channelled the feeling of losing the history we have in this hypothetical world into the sorrow that bleeds into the lyrics of this song.
“It’s about the persistence of love that best friends, brothers and sisters share, and that through all the highs and the lows, time spent apart would have ultimately been a waste. That through all the hypothetical miscommunications and stubborn bitterness, the love that we miss sharing with each other would have been within reach all along.”

Dropping in September, Happiness In A Place It Shouldn’t Be will include the new single ‘Time Will Try’ alongside the previously released ‘Sweet Cocoon’ and ‘Physical Medicine’. Talking about the EP, the band shared this statement: “For our second EP, we wanted to approach it with raw authenticity. This is the most genuine we’ve ever been with our stories, and we’re thrilled to share it with you all.”
Having established themselves as one of Australia’s most exciting acts, The Rions have garnered over 30 million streams worldwide and built a loyal fanbase, exemplified by their recent sold out Sweet Cocoon Tour earlier this year.
Currently gearing up for their first-ever UK and Europe co-headline tour with Pacific Avenue, The Rions are ready to take over the world.
