This year marks 30 years since the release of Shihad's self-titled album, affectionately known as The Fish Album.

Keen to celebrate this milestone, the band have announced the album is being reissued on CD alongside a limited-edition blue vinyl pressing, which arrives in new premium limited-edition gatefold packaging.

Released in 1996, this was the album that helped Shihad break through both in their native New Zealand and Australia, with the single 'Home Again' making waves on commercial radio.

Recorded at York Street Studios in Auckland with producer and engineer Malcolm Welsford, the album also boasts enduring fan favourites like 'La La Land' and 'A Day Away'.

To ensure these classic tracks sound bigger than ever, the original recordings have been meticulously remastered by Tony "Jack the Bear" Mantz.

Pre-orders for both the CD and limited edition blue vinyl are available here.

First formed in 1998, Shihad released 10 studio albums across a career spanning 27 years, calling it quits in 2025.

While their self-titled third album helped them break out, it was the 1999 follow-up The General Electric that turned the Kiwi outfit into household names.

The record went to #1 on the New Zealand Albums Chart and peaked at #23 on the ARIA Albums Chart, spawned the singles 'My Mind's Sedate', 'The General Electric', 'Pacifier' and 'Sport and Religion' and was their first album to gain platinum certification.

Shihad may no longer be together, but they remain one of New Zealand's most influential artists, and this reissue of their third record on vinyl is sure to sell out fast.

The 30th anniversary editions of Shihad will be released on Friday 20 November. Pre-orders for both the CD and the limited-edition blue vinyl are available here.
