In news that’s both good and bad for music fans, rock icon Suzi Quatro has revealed she’s embarking on her 40th Australian tour in 2025 but won’t be making the trip to Adelaide.
The American singer and bassist is bringing her ‘Rockin’ On’ theatre show to Australian shores in January and February next year. Celebrating her 60-year career, fans can expect to hear all of Quatro’s biggest hits, including ‘Can The Can’, ‘48 Crash’, ‘If You Can't Give Me Love’, 'She's In Love With You' and ‘Devil Gate Drive’.
“Looking back on my career, 60 years now in the ‘biz’, and now my 40th tour of Australia, I still can't believe it,” Quatro says. “Since my first time in 1974, with two tours that year, I totally fell head over heels for Australia, with the country and the people, everything about it.”
Quatro’s tour kicks off with two shows at Twin Towers on the Gold Coast on Friday, January 17 and Saturday, January 18. She then plays Tamworth Regional Entertainment Centre in Tamworth on Wednesday, January 22, Sydney’s Enmore Theatre on Friday, January 24, Hobart’s Wrest Point Ent Centre on Saturday, January 25 and Melbourne’s Palais Theatre on Sunday, January 26.
After a few days rest Quatro and her backing band go again, performing at Brolga Theatre in Maryborough on Wednesday, January 29 and Mackay Entertainment & Convention Centre in Mackay on Friday, 31 January 31. The final two shows take place in February at Townsville Entertainment Centre in Townsville on Saturday, February 1 and the Convention Centre in Cairns on Sunday, February 2.
Tickets for all dates of Quatro’s ‘Rockin’ On’ tour go on sale Tuesday, July 16 via Duet Group.
Quatro has long been a favourite with Australian audiences since she first toured down under during the 70s. An innovator of rock and roll, she has been at the forefront of rock music history for six decades, scoring her only #1 album in Australia in 1974 with her sophomore album, Quatro.
The accomplished songwriter continues to release music consistently, with her most recent record being last year’s duet album with Scottish singer-songwriter KT Tunstall, Face to Face. Before that, Quatro dropped an EP of covers in 2022 and her 17th album, The Devil in Me, in 2021.
Quatro has also had her life story told on the big screen when the doco Suzi Q premiered in Australian cinemas in 2019. The documentary film was a critical and commercial success, further cementing Quatro’s legacy.
“Australia and me? We just love each other, it has been this ongoing affair, and we should never get married!” Quatro exclaims. “I will keep coming as long you will have me. It’s my second home.”
