Non-profit charity Red Hot Organization has announced a new compilation, Transa: Selects. The 46-track album celebrates trans people and includes a slew of new tunes from a wide range of artists, including the incredible Sade.
‘Young Lion’ is Sade’s first new single in six years following 2018s ‘Flower of the Universe’ and ‘The Big Unknown’. Written as a tribute to her trans son Izaak, ‘Young Lion’ is a delicate piano ballad Sade co-wrote with Dean and Ben Travers and co-produced with Aaron Taylor Dean.

Along with ‘Young Lion’, several other tracks from the compilation have been released. Lauren Auder + Wendy & Lisa of the Revolution took on Prince’s ‘I Would Die 4 U’ and Sam Smith recorded a new version of ‘Ever New’ with the song’s original writer, Beverly Glenn-Copeland.
Also available to listen to are L’Rain and the NYC Trans Oral History Project’s delightful cover of Anohni’s ‘People Are Small / Rapture’, and André 3000 epic 26-minute newbie called ‘Something Is Happening And I May Not Fully Understand But I’m Happy To Stand For The Understanding’.
The compilation also features songs by Fleet Foxes, Allison Russell, Julien Baker, Kelela, Clairo, Jeff Tweedy and more.
Transa: Selects arrives November 22 via Red Hot Organisation. You can pre-order both digital and vinyl editions of the album here.
