Plug In: Discover SA’s Next Wave at Garageband Tarntanya

Meet the free gig platforming local artists you’ll want to say you heard first.

Searching for Saturday plans? Introducing Garageband Tarntanya – the free, all-ages gig putting the spotlight on the next crop of emerging SA artists ready to cut their teeth on the live stage.

Park block party, part mini festival, the event takes place at Festival Plaza this 17 May from 2:30pm. Across the afternoon, 14 incredible acts will be delivering an epic afternoon of live music that skips between indie, punk, reggae, pop and more – there’s something for every sonic taste here.

So, what should you expect on the day? A buzzing, high-octane energy and diverse sounds that make your brain go ‘wow’. The bands playing include all-female punk rockers Ammonite, heavy metal-infused rock band Tacenda, indie outfit Enter the Bone Zone, alt trio Pearly Stars and singer-songwriter Emerauld.

Garageband Tarntanya is built for the curious at heart; the three-stage mini-fest is all about discovering your next favourite act and championing the next wave of local creatives about to break through. Behind the scenes, the fun is also youth-powered – over 50 young creatives are running the show, from sound right through to promotion. It couldn’t be more grassroots than this.

Come for the music. Stay for the moment. Leave knowing you were part of something real. Garageband Tarntanya – see you in the crowd.

Garageband Tarntanya takes place this Saturday 17 May from 2:30pm to 5:15pm. Full lineup below. Entry is FREE. All ages welcome. Find out more here.

This event is presented in collaboration with Adelaide Festival Centre, Festival Plaza, JOF and Carclew.
